BwB CEO, Topsie Olatilewa E. was invited as mentor to 360Connect two weeks training sessions on website and apps development for senior students of Babs Fafunwa Millenium Secondary School, Lagos. She spoke on social innovation, challenging students to leverage ICT for their career advantage. They should choose a career path students are passion and talented in, development their entrepreneurial and ICT skills and have a mindset that they will going into university/college to understudy a course, come out with a degree and business plan at the same time, as their are no jobs waiting for their generation. It is the business plan of ideas they have developed in their university days that will launch them into entrepreneurship with ICT in their field of studies.
Topsie empowered the students, that their generation is the luckiest born into the age of ICT Revolution (Technology & Internet Era), students should spend their time wisely with technology gadget and platforms to brand their chosen career path for global visibility, she went further to say that ideas can come from anyone and anywhere, students should not be discourage to share their ideas with people they trust, and develop a spirit collaboration instead of competition.
Finally, she was marveled at 360Connect CEO Rasak Adekoya, how a visually-impaired (Blindness) can think, organize and coordinate a two weeks training sessions with his superb team for students. She used Rasak Adekoya as an example for the students, that if Rasak Adekoya who cannot physically see is organizing and coordinating training for you students who can see with your two eyes, them students you don’t have any excuse in life or playing the blaming game. It time to get focus, study hard and see yourself as leaders ready to solve the world’s problem through social innovation.
